The Carolina Region has announced the hiring of Chuck McCracken as the Director of High Performance and Coaching Development.
Chuck is no stranger to the Carolina Region membership. He has served in many capacities in the Carolina Region organization: Club Director, Coach, Player, Tournament Director, Clinician, Commissioner, and staff member.
Chuck served as the first High Performance Director when the position was created in the Carolina Region in September of 2003. He led the program through 2008 before stepping away to try new things. However, he was still highly involved in Carolina Region activities and has always been a valuable consultant to the Region.
When the position re-opened, Chuck was an obvious choice to take over the Program. Kevin Wendelboe, CEO of the Carolina Region, said, "I am thrilled that Chuck has agreed to return to the Carolina Region as Director of High Performance and Coaching Development. We are looking to re-energize the program and really include Coaches Development as a key component in the program. Chuck is well-known in the Region and is held in high regard by all. It is a great fit!"
When asked about what the HP Program means to him and the Region, Chuck said, "The main reason for the Region having an HP Program is not to focus on the HP Championships but to provide quality training and experiences to raise the level of play in the Carolina Region. In order to raise the level of play in the Region, we have to raise the knowledge level of our Coaches. We intend to have two high level coaching clinics a year – an indoor clinic and an outdoor clinic. I look forward to working with the membership in growing the program."
Chuck will work out of his home in Stokesdale. He will begin in September with priority tasks of scheduling fall IMPACT clinics, scheduling HP Clinics, and reaching out to clubs and coaches across the Region to get involved with the HP Program. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
