For the 2012 Season, those individuals that were certified as a Scorekeeper ("S") or Referee ("B") during the 2011 season are eligible to take the re-cert clinic either at a live clinic or online. To check to see if you are eligible, log in to your member account and check the "Re-cert Eligible" field (Main Info tab) for one of the codes above.
For both the referee and scorekeeper clinics, your login will be the same:
USERNAME: Contact ID number from your member account (7 digit numeral from your Main Info Tab)
PASSWORD: LastnameFirstname (as found in your member record - uppercase is required if that is in your member record)
This year you will only have to login ONCE to access the clinics. This is true for those that are only going to be Scorekeepers and those that are referees (referees have to complete both the Scorekeeper AND referee clinics/tests to become certified as a Referee). Please choose the link carefully below that applies to your situation (scorekeeper only chooses the scorekeeper link; referees choose the Referee link (and will have access to both ref and score clinics from that link!). NOTE: For Scorekeepers ONLY accessing through Scorekeeper link below, once you complete the clinic and the "quiz", you will need toemail the office and request the info to take the SCOREKEEPER TEST (Form C). For REFEREES accessing from Referee section below: You will be provided with a password to take the Referee and Scorekeeper tests at the end of the Referee powerpoint presentation. After you put your name in to get credit for the clinic, it will tell you to download a powerpoint file from the Carolina Region. That file has the URL and passwords for both Ref and Score TESTS. Most officials should take the Form C tests and choose "Provisional" as your rating (both ref and score). Only professional officials need to take the Form A.
There is some confusion about which TESTS to take and what is required to be certified. During the clinics below, you will have opportunity to take several "quizes" (line judge, second refere, and scorer) to verify the information being discussed is being retained by you. These "quizes" are NOT the certification TESTS that are required to be submitted. At the end of the REFEREE clinic, you will be shown a confirmation page to download a powerpoint file from the Carolina Region that has the URL to take you to the TESTS page. On that page will be choices to take either the Form A or C Referee Test and also the Form A and C Scorekeeper test. Most everyone can choose the "C" tests for both Referee and Scorekeeper (our Professional Officials should take the A tests). Once you have completed both the Referee and Scorekeeper TESTS, then you will have completed everything needed to be certified as a Referee (if you are scorekeeper only then only need to submit the Scorekeeper TEST ). The system will email you a copy of your results - this means you completed everything successfully. It tells you to correct your misses and forward to the region. This step is for your benefit only to help you understand what missed. The Region will not reply to that email.
If you are ONLY going to be certified as a SCOREKEEPER this season, this section is for you. At the end of the clinic (after taking score QUIZ - email the region office and notify us that you completed the Scorekeeper clinic and you are a scorekeeper only candidate. We will email you the TEST info (this is required to be certified as a scorekeeper). If you are going to Referee also, do not log in through this link - proceed to Referee section below. To log in to the Scorekeeper clinic - click on this link . AFTERWARDS: The clinic process has changed this season, so we are not able to provide a lookup to make sure you completed the clinic. You should be directed to a test at the end of the clinic. NOTE: You will be provided with a password to take the Scorekeeper tests at the end of the powerpoint presentation. Most officials should take the Form C tests and choose "Provisional" as your rating (both ref and score). Only professional officials need to take the Form A. Once you complete that you will get a results email (and the region will too so no need to forward to us). Keep that results email as proof of completion. NOTE: There will be a delay from when you complete the clinic/test to when it appears in your member record as we do have to process these manually. As long as you have your results email, then you are ok and we will update your record as quickly as we can. CLUBS/COACHES - by around February we should have most results processed. Check your team rosters (club admin can check online - coaches at tournaments) and if certifications are not showing for players that tell you they have completed it, contact the Region Office now. We want to update records this season (not before next season when records are not as easily accessible).
NOTE: To be a certified Referee, you must complete the Scorekeeper clinic/test also. The link below will give you access to BOTH Scorer and Referee clinics so you do not have to use link above for scorekeepers.
