Welcome to “the first step in the USA Volleyball Athlete Pipeline”!
The Carolina Region High Performance (HP) Program provides an opportunity for players (boys and girls) at all levels to be trained by highly skilled coaches, using the methods and techniques which earned our Olympic Teams Gold and Silver medals during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, a Silver medal in London (2012), and Bronze medals in Rio (2016). It is our goal to bring a competitive, productive and challenging training environment to every player in the Carolina Region who wishes to Perform at a Higher level.
We currently offer two types of HP Clinics in the Region.
- Initial Player clinic – players are measured in the typical areas (height, reach, jump, etc.) and various volleyball related skills and activities. These measurements are entered into the player’s USAV member record for reference and use. Players are then introduced to the various teaching methods the USAV HP Program utilizes to advance volleyball skills.
- Advanced Skills and Positions Clinics.
USA Volleyball High Performance Offers programs at the following levels/Age Groups:
- USA Select
- Future Select
Depending on interest and player levels, we may offer training clinics in April/May to gauge whether training teams can be formed for the summer.
If you have more questions on the Carolina Region HP Program, contact Wade Brence, Programs Director – firstname.lastname@example.org
The Carolina Region does not currently have any HP Player Clinics scheduled. We are currently concentrating on improving the Coaching in the Region through CAP Clinics and possibly an HP Coaching Cadre (TBA). Once we have implemented changes in the Coaching Training, we will look at bringing back HP Player Clinics. Any clinics we are aware of will be available at the Player Clinic page. NOTE: The Carolina Region will again host a National USAV HP Tryout MAPL Raleigh (March 9, 2018). Details are at the above Player Clinic page and the USAV National HP Tryout schedule.
HP Program Athlete Data
The Carolina Region utilizes the USAV Registration and Member Database to store player information and data. All players interested in the Carolina Region High Performance Program should log in to their Carolina Region Membership Account and make sure all your contact information is current and up-to-date. Also, please go to the “Other Info” tab at the top of your record. Once you select “Other Info”, more tabs will appear about half-way down the screen. Please click on the “Player Info” and “Personal Info” tabs and fill in any information you are able. This will help both the High Performance Staff as well as your Club Coaches (Club administrators will have access to this also so can use this information for uniform/apparel orders, etc.). If any of your information changes during the season, you can log in to your record any time to keep it updated. REMINDER: You must be a current member of the Carolina Region to participate in HP Clinics, so be sure your status is “Current” before attending. You will also register for all Carolina Region HP Clinics and Tryouts from within your member record using the USAV & Region Events menu.
