Another successful indoor season is in the books! Our membership grew overall, we added additional playing divisions, and more and more juniors are enjoying this great sport in North Carolina. My thanks to all who continue to support the Region across the state!
For those that are interested in our membership totals (full members only): We registered for the 2006/2007 membership season:
540 adult males (208 are players on indoor teams)
771 adult females (306 are players on indoor teams)
54 junior males (+3 over 2006)
3372 junior females (+424 over 2006!)
54 adult teams
349 junior teams
The Junior Advisory Board met May 5 and the Carolina Region Board of Directors met on May 6 for the Annual Meeting. Both groups reviewd the past season and started making plans for 2007/2008. See elsewhere in this newsletter for some upcoming changes in 2008! Based on feedback in our end of year surveys, we think you'll be pleased!
I'm off to the annual meetings of USA Volleyball, the Regions, and the 2007 US Open Volleyball Championships in Austin, Texas tomorrow (May 22). We'll update you on any national changes with our next newsletter as well as the results of all the teams competing this summer in National Championships. Good luck to all!
