CONGRATULATIONS

Here are some recent accomplishments that Deserve Regional Recognition!

OUTSTANDING OFFICIALS:
The Carolina Region had several officials selected to work big matches at the 2005 US Open Championships in Denver, CO. Michael O'Connor from Apex was R1 for the Men's Open Gold finals. His R2 was Ken Matz from Cary. The Scorekeeper for that match was Amber Fulk from East Bend. Marilyn Thompson from Selma was the scorekeeper for the Women's Open Gold finals. We think we have some of the best officials in the country and these assignments bear that out. Congratulations!

HIGH PERFORMANCE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Congratulations to Katherine Camp from Raleigh who was selected to attend the 2005 USA Girls National High Performance Camp in Austin, Texas. Congratulations to Amanda Robertson from Roxboro who attended the USA Girls High Performance A2 Camp in Austin, TX. Blaine Tendler from Burlington, one of our HP Coaches, was selected to help coach at the Girls HPC A2 Camp.

Congratulations to Megan Hodge from Durham, who was selected for the USA Girls Youth National Team! She played in the FIVB Girls U-18 World Championships in Macau, China in July. The team finished 4th, equaling its best ever finish for a USAV Youth National team. Megan also was named to the 2005 17 National All-Tournament team at the 2005 Junior Olympic Championships in Salt Lake City. You can read more about Megan at USA Volleyball's website.

Congratulations to all of these great representatives of the Carolina Region!
