Office Notes

Kevin Wendelboe, Office Manager

It is hard to believe, but the 2003/2004 Carolina Region/USA Volleyball season is just around the corner. The Region Board of Directors have met for their annual retreat and planning is already underway for another exciting season. The preliminary schedule for adults and juniors has already been posted to the web site. As additional information and forms are developed for the next season, they will be posted to the web site. Reminder, please do not use any forms unless they specifically say "2004" next to it. The registration packets will be posted and mailed in September.

The next newsletter will have some more details on what is in store for the new season. The USAV rules will not be changing much. We will be tweaking some policies and procedures (based on member feedback!), but there are not too many changes in store. Chuck mentioned one exciting development in the Region-a new Development and Program Administrator staff position. This position will focus on traveling the state to promote the sport (giving clinics, etc), developing new facilities for tournament and league play, and developing and overseeing our existing non-tournament programs (High Performance, Officiating and Player Clinics, etc). The Region has continued to grow over the past few years and this is the next step needed to sustain that growth and continue to promote the sport. We will introduce you to our new staff member in the next newsletter!

That is it for now. Thanks, as always, for your support of this great sport. We will see you on the courts shortly!
