Just a note from the JO officials corner and JO Girls Coordinator: The level of officiating is improving every year. We have had many former Junior players continue with their officiating and are actually helping us while they are in college (every little bit of extra $ helps-keep that in mind if you really enjoy officiating!).
As officials, it is easy to tell which coaches feel that officiating is important by the quality of their officiating team. Of course most often these are the best teams with the best coaches because a good coach understands the importance of being a good officiating team.
I want to thank you for your comments on the officials, both good and bad. I cannot work with them unless I know the image they are conveying when they are working with the girls. Please feel free to write anything you need me to know on the evaluation sheets. I promise that I read every one of them. You can also send comments to me through email at any time (marilyn.thompson@Carolinaregionvb.org). I was happy to have the number of officials that I have this year so they could help at all positions. I just need you to let me know that they are doing what is expected of them. If you do not give us any feedback or wait until the end of the season, it does not help us make the corrections we can control and improve on.
