COACHING CLINIC SCHEDULE

NOTE: For 2009/2010 , the Region intends to hold at least THREE pre-season Coaches meetings and IMPACT clinics (and more than likely more than that spread around the state). With our numbers, it has become increasingly more difficult to get everyone in one site. The good news is this gives clubs/teams/coaches more options. All clubs/teams must have at least one rep at one of the meetings in order to gather the season information. All coaches that need to be IMPACT certified may choose the meeting/clinic that they wish to attend. A minimum of IMPACT certification is required in order to coach (this applies to all Head and Assistant Coaches) in the Region but once you are certified you do not need to attend another "full" IMPACT clinic unless you want updated information or to meet the continuing education requirement. The Carolina Region has a continuing education requirement - once IMPACT or CAP certified, a coach must attend annually a Region-approved education based coaching clinic to show dedication to their profession and the kids they will impact. Coaches that are already IMPACT or CAP certified may attend the meeting and then attend the gym session of the IMPACT clinic to meet their annual continuing education/clinic requirement (or attend any other clinic, convention, or course as desired). Proof of attendance should be sent to region office and prior approval of courses may be obtained from Region Staff - events that have been approved in past and do not need prior approval are: any CAP clinic, Gold Medal Coaching Clinics, the AVCA Convention, or a NCHSAA pre-season coaching clinic.

REMINDER - Coaches will not be added to a Team's Tournament Roster until they are IMPACT/CAP certified and pass the Background Screen. So all coaches must be IMPACT certified before their team's FIRST tournament!

CLINIC SCHEDULE:

• Clubs/Teams may host their own IMPACT clinic anytime! Contact Chuck McCracken for additional information on hosting your own IMPACT clinic.
• REGION-SPONSORED IMPACT: The Region-sponsored IMPACT clinics have all been held for the 2010 season. See below for option to take an online IMPACT clinic through USA Volleyball.
• Train the Trainer Clinic - Sitting Volleyball: Saturday, April 24, 2010 - Site: Cary Parks and Recreation, 123 Middle Creek Park Ave., Apex, NC 27539. Time: 9 am - 12 pm. Elliott Blake, the UCO Sitting Volleyball Coordinator and US Paralympic Rep, will be here to give the clinic. NC has three members on the National US Paralympic teams and we hope to have some of them in attendance as well. Lunch will be provided and there will be a sitting volleyball demonstration/play day from 1-4 pm that will allow the participants to utilize some of their new training. More information will be posted here when received. The Carolina Region is a sponsor of this event and we hope that our coaching community will attend to learn a different aspect of the sport. We are also looking for clubs to get involved to help with the play day in afternoon. Please contact the Region if your club is interested in getting involved.

For those coaches still needing to get IMPACT certified, USA Volleyball now offers ONLINE IMPACT clinics monthly during the season. The clinic runs over two successive nights (both sessions required) and then a post-clinic test is required. Upon completion, you and the region will be sent a certificate proving your certification and your online membership record will be updated with the certification information (will print on your member card).
